The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire curiosity about religion, philosophy, and ethics, while promoting respect for different cultures and viewpoints. You will assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, adapting your teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with additional needs or requiring differentiated support. Working collaboratively within a supportive Humanities or RE department, you will contribute to curriculum development, enrichment opportunities, and whole-school initiatives. Upholding strong behaviour management and safeguarding practices will be central to your role, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for all students.

Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be motivated and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.
This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and have a strong academic background in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject. Applications are welcomed from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers who demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people. You will have the ability to deliver engaging lessons that cater to a range of abilities, including students with SEND, and demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching practices. A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths is essential. You will be available to start in September and commit to a full-time, long-term role. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents are key. Due to the school’s location, access to your own transport or reliable travel arrangements is highly desirable.
