4myschools are currently seeking a confident and adaptable Secondary Supply Teacher to work across a welcoming and inclusive secondary school setting in Broxbourne. This opportunity offers flexible supply work within a well-established school that prides itself on fostering a supportive learning environment, strong pastoral care and a commitment to student progress and achievement. The successful applicant will be delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, following pre-set work where required, maintaining excellent classroom behaviour, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher. You will be working collaboratively with experienced department teams, supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional needs, and helping to create an engaging and positive classroom atmosphere. General responsibilities will include classroom management, marking work in line with school policy, adapting teaching methods where necessary, and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times. This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced secondary teachers and those with strong subject knowledge or SEN experience looking to build their classroom exposure in a flexible role. Working hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be committed  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths and will ideally have previous experience teaching within a secondary school setting or possess strong subject knowledge relevant to the UK curriculum. We welcome applications from qualified teachers, cover supervisors, or graduates with relevant experience in education or SEN support. You should be confident managing behaviour, adaptable across subjects, and comfortable working on a day-to-day or short-term basis, with the potential for longer-term bookings. A professional, proactive attitude and strong communication skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for supporting young people’s learning and development. Due to the location and potential need to travel between schools, access to your own transport or the ability to commute reliably within the Broxbourne area is highly desirable. Availability for regular weekday work will be advantageous.
