New opportunity! Secondary Supply Teacher – Cheshunt

At 4myschools, we are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Cheshunt that is committed to providing a supportive learning environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential. The school has a strong focus on academic progress alongside personal development, with a collaborative staff culture and well-established behaviour systems that enable supply staff to feel confident and supported in the classroom. We are currently seeking a passionate and adaptable Secondary Supply Teacher to join this positive setting on a flexible basis. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4, maintaining strong classroom management, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher. You will monitor student progress, provide clear instructions, and foster an engaging and respectful learning environment in line with the school’s ethos. This opportunity is ideal for experienced teachers or those with strong subject knowledge or SEN awareness looking to broaden their experience across different classrooms, with working hours of 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

  • Contract duration: Temporary (Short Term)
  • Contract type: TEMPORARY – Hours: 8:30 to 3:30
  • Age groups: Secondary School

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English and will ideally have previous experience working within a secondary school environment, whether as a qualified teacher, cover supervisor, or through relevant educational support roles. You will demonstrate excellent classroom management skills, flexibility, and a proactive approach to engaging learners of varying abilities, including those with special educational needs. Strong subject knowledge across the curriculum or in a specialist area will be advantageous. You should be reliable, professional, and able to adapt quickly to new school settings. Availability for regular or ad-hoc work is essential, and due to the location and potential need to travel to nearby schools, access to your own transport is highly desirable.
