At 4myschools, we are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools in Attleborough and the surrounding areas. We have flexible opportunities available for immediate starts, including daily supply, short-term assignments, long-term placements, half-day bookings and full-day roles, allowing you to choose work that fits around your lifestyle and commitments. As an SEN LSA within primary schools, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and moderate learning difficulties. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to help children access the curriculum, develop social and communication skills, build confidence and achieve individual learning targets. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis, within small intervention groups, or as part of whole-class learning. The ability to build positive relationships, provide encouragement and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs will be essential. Within secondary school settings, the role can involve supporting students across a variety of subject areas while helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their academic potential. You may assist students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), support learners during examinations, provide mentoring and pastoral support, and help young people develop independence, resilience and confidence both inside and outside the classroom. Secondary SEN LSAs often work closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies and ensure students remain engaged and successful in their education. Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be motivated and confident working with pupils in a Primary and Secondary School setting.
The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs within a school, childcare, youth work, care, support work or similar environment. A patient, nurturing and adaptable approach is essential, alongside excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Experience supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, speech and language needs, or other additional learning needs would be highly advantageous. Applicants must hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths. Due to the nature of supply work and travel between local schools, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel independently is highly desirable. Candidates should be available to work during school hours, typically 8:30am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday, term time only, although flexibility is available through half-day and ad hoc bookings. A commitment to supporting pupils’ wellbeing, learning and development is essential, along with the ability to adapt confidently to different school environments.
