4myschools is currently recruiting experienced and passionate SEN Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary and secondary schools in Norwich. We have flexible daily supply, short-term and long-term opportunities available with immediate starts, making this an ideal role for candidates seeking flexibility or those looking to secure a longer-term position within a supportive educational setting. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with proven experience supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as Psychology graduates and individuals with backgrounds in Health and Social Care who are looking to apply their skills within education. As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Responsibilities may include providing one-to-one support, assisting small intervention groups, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs, promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills. You may support pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), moderate learning difficulties and other complex needs. Working closely with teaching staff and SENCOs, you will contribute to creating a nurturing, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels valued and supported. Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be motivated and confident working with pupils in a Primary and Secondary School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND within a school, care, support work or similar setting. SEN experience is essential for this role. Applications are also welcomed from Psychology graduates and individuals with Health and Social Care backgrounds who can demonstrate a strong understanding of additional needs and a passion for supporting young people. Knowledge of the UK curriculum and experience implementing strategies to support learning and wellbeing would be highly advantageous. Candidates must hold a minimum Grade 4 (C) or equivalent qualification in GCSE English and Maths and possess excellent communication, patience and relationship-building skills. Due to the flexible nature of these opportunities, applicants should be available for between one and five days per week and have access to reliable transport to travel to schools across Norwich and the surrounding areas.
