New opportunity! SEN Teaching Assistant – Fakenham

4myschools are currently recruiting enthusiastic, compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a daily supply, short-term and long-term basis within a welcoming and highly supportive Special Educational Needs school in the Fakenham area. This specialist setting provides a nurturing and structured learning environment for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and complex communication needs. The school is committed to helping every pupil achieve their full potential through personalised learning, therapeutic support and positive behaviour strategies. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom. Responsibilities will include working on a one-to-one basis and with small groups, assisting with differentiated learning activities, supporting communication and social development, promoting independence, and helping pupils regulate their emotions throughout the school day. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff to create an engaging and inclusive learning experience. The role may also involve supporting personal care where required, implementing behaviour support plans, encouraging positive interactions, and celebrating every achievement, no matter how small. Whether you are looking for flexible daily supply work or a longer-term placement, this is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

  • Contract duration: Supply Teacher, Temporary (Short Term), Temporary (Long Term), Temp-to-Perm
  • Contract type: PART_TIME, FULL_TIME – Hours: 08:30-3.:30
  • Age groups: Primary and Secondary School

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs in either an education, care, support work, youth work or healthcare setting. Applications are welcomed from experienced SEN Teaching Assistants as well as individuals who have transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners. You must hold a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent). An understanding of Autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, communication needs or behaviour management strategies would be highly advantageous. Due to the location of the school and the nature of supply work, access to your own transport is desirable. Successful candidates will be reliable, patient, adaptable and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Availability for either daily supply, short-term cover or longer-term assignments is welcomed.
