At 4myschools, we are delighted to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Supply Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a welcoming and inclusive primary school near Thorpe-le-Soken. This well-regarded setting is known for its supportive, community-focused ethos, where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning. This position offers both planned and short-notice supply cover, providing you with the flexibility to work between 1–5 days per week based on your availability. In this varied role, you will support across EYFS through to Year 6, working as a TA, LSA, or HLTA (HLTA work is subject to relevent qualifications and experience) depending on the needs of the school. Your responsibilities will include providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEND, including those with complex needs, assisting with general classroom learning, and even stepping into front-of-class support when required as a HLTA. You will also deliver or support intervention groups and booster sessions, including SATS preparation, helping to raise attainment and build pupils’ confidence. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced TAs and LSAs who enjoy a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal applicant will have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant (TA), Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or HLTA within a primary setting and have a solid understanding of the primary curriculum and/or SEND support strategies, particularly for pupils with additional or complex needs. A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths is essential. If you are interested in HLTA work a minimum of a Level 4 qualification is desirable and experience in the role essential. You will be adaptable, confident supporting across all year groups, and comfortable delivering both 1:1 and small group interventions. Flexibility is key, as this role offers 1–5 days per week, including both pre-booked and last-minute assignments. Due to the location and nature of supply work, access to your own transport is highly desirable. This is an ongoing opportunity with no fixed end date, offering consistency for the right candidate.
