Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for flexible and rewarding supply work in the Clacton area? At 4myschools, we are working with local schools seeking confident and capable HLTAs to provide high-quality classroom support across Clacton, Little Clacton, Weeley, Thorpe-le-Soken, Frinton and St Osyth. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled support professionals who are comfortable leading learning, covering lessons, delivering interventions and working across different year groups as needed. Supply HLTA work offers variety, flexibility and the chance to use your wider classroom experience to support schools where your expertise is genuinely valued. Typical working hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, with assignments ranging from day-to-day cover to short-term and longer-term placements. In this role, you may lead whole-class learning during teacher release time or absence, deliver targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy, adapt activities to meet differing pupil needs, support assessment and feedback, and work closely with teachers and school leaders to maintain strong progress and positive classroom routines.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking experienced school support professionals with a confident classroom presence, strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to lead groups independently when required. You will have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent, plus a Level 3/NVQ qualification in Learning Support, Early Years or a related field. A HLTA qualification and prior experience working as a HLTA is highly desirable, and SEND experience is often an advantage. You will need to be organised, adaptable, professional and able to build rapport quickly with both pupils and staff. Because this is a mobile supply role covering schools across Clacton, Little Clacton, Weeley, Thorpe-le-Soken, Frinton and St Osyth, access to your own car is essential. We would particularly like to hear from candidates who can offer strong availability and who want to become a trusted, go-to HLTA for local schools
