This role involves supporting Science teaching across a range of secondary schools in and around Stowmarket, working with pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. The schools offer structured learning environments where clear routines and established expectations help maintain continuity, particularly in core subjects. The position may involve daily supply cover, short‑term absences, or longer‑term placements within a Science department, depending on school needs. You will be joining teams that value consistency, clear communication, and practical support for visiting staff.

• Contract type: Flexible – Hours: 8:30 – 15:30
• Age groups: Secondary School

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

This opportunity would suit a Science teacher who is confident stepping into different classrooms and engaging pupils in practical and theoretical learning. You should be able to deliver set work clearly on daily supply while maintaining a calm and purposeful atmosphere. For short‑ and long‑term placements, the ability to adapt lessons, support pupil progress, and work collaboratively with department colleagues will be important. A flexible, professional approach and secure subject knowledge will help you succeed across a variety of school settings.
