This role supports Maths teaching across a range of secondary schools in Ipswich, covering daily supply, short‑term cover, and longer‑term placements. The schools have established Maths departments with clear schemes of work, allowing visiting teachers to step in confidently and maintain continuity of learning. Daily supply work focuses on delivering set lessons and keeping pupils engaged, while longer placements offer greater involvement within the department. Staff teams are typically supportive, with consistent routines that help supply teachers settle quickly.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

This position would suit a flexible and confident Maths teacher who can adapt easily to different school environments. You should be comfortable delivering pre‑planned lessons at short notice and maintaining positive classroom behaviour on daily supply. For longer‑term roles, strong subject knowledge and the ability to contribute to planning, assessment, and exam preparation will be important. A professional, calm approach and clear communication style will support effective learning across all placements.
