Staff work collaboratively to support pupil progress and maintain consistency across departments. The English department is well structured, with shared resources and schemes of work in place to support teaching and learning. This role plays a key part in maintaining high‑quality English provision during the maternity period.

• Contract type: FULL_TIME – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and well‑planned lessons that support pupils’ reading, writing, and analytical skills. As a full‑time maternity cover, the role may include planning, marking, assessment, and contributing to departmental routines. The position offers the chance to build strong relationships with pupils and become embedded in the department for the duration of the cover.This role would suit a committed English teacher who can quickly establish rapport with pupils and maintain consistent classroom routines. You will be confident delivering English content clearly and adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities. A reflective and organised approach will support continuity for pupils during the maternity period. Applications are welcome from both experienced teachers and those earlier in their career.
