Are you looking to take your first step into education? We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants for schools across Ipswich, Manningtree and Felixstowe. These opportunities are ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic, reliable and keen to make a positive difference in a classroom environment. Whether you have previous experience working with children or young people, or you come from a background in care, youth work, coaching, childcare or support work, this could be an excellent route into a long-term and rewarding career in education. In this role, you will be supporting pupils with additional learning needs, so a calm, patient and adaptable approach is key. You may also be working with small groups, helping children build confidence and independence, and assisting teachers with day-to-day classroom activities. We are looking for candidates who are proactive, organised and motivated to contribute to a positive and supportive school environment, with the ability to build strong relationships with both pupils and staff. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn are important, alongside the ability to follow direction and work as part of a wider team. Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential. Due to the location of the schools and the need for flexibility across different settings, a full driving licence and access to a car is essential for this role.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary and Secondary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be a positive, reliable and proactive individual who is keen to begin or develop a career within education. You should have a genuine interest in working with children and young people, along with the ability to build strong, supportive relationships in a classroom environment. Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential, and we welcome applicants from backgrounds such as care, youth work, sports coaching or childcare. Strong communication skills, patience and a willingness to learn are key, as is the ability to follow direction and work as part of a wider school team. You should be adaptable, organised and motivated to contribute to a positive learning environment within schools across Ipswich, Manningtree and Felixstowe.
