New opening! Year 2 Teacher – Stevenage
At 4myschools, we are delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and community-focused primary school located near Stevenage, seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis. This role is available from September for at least one term, working Thursdays and Fridays (8:30am–3:30pm, term time only). The school prides itself on fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, creativity, and pupil wellbeing, the setting provides a supportive leadership team and well-resourced classrooms, making it an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and those with strong Key Stage 1 curriculum knowledge or experience supporting pupils with additional needs. The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to a Year 2 class, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning in line with the national curriculum. Duties will include full planning and preparation, assessing and marking pupils’ work, maintaining accurate records of progress, and adapting learning to support a range of abilities including those with Special Educational Needs. The role will also require effective classroom management, fostering a positive and productive learning environment, and working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure continuity of learning across the week
- Contract duration: Temporary (Long Term)
- Contract type: PART_TIME – Hours: 8:30 to 3:30
- Age groups: Year 2

A solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum, phonics, and SATs preparation is advantageous, along with the ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons. Candidates must hold a minimum of Grade 4/C in GCSE Maths and English, demonstrate strong organisational skills, and be confident in undertaking planning and marking responsibilities. Reliability and commitment to the two fixed working days are essential for consistency within the class. Access to transport is highly desirable due to the school’s location near Stevenage.
