About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate would be an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher with experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, particularly Years 9, 10 and 11. They will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification and have a proven ability to deliver engaging, practical lessons that inspire students to develop their cooking skills, nutritional understanding, and confidence in the kitchen. The successful candidate will possess excellent classroom management skills, be highly organised, and be confident planning and delivering lessons that cater to a range of abilities. They should be able to build positive relationships with students and staff, maintain high standards of behaviour and food hygiene, and demonstrate a genuine passion for education and food technology. As this is a full-time role starting immediately until Christmas, the ideal teacher will be flexible, reliable, and able to quickly integrate into an established department, ensuring continuity of learning for students during the period of cover. Experience teaching GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition would be highly advantageous.
