The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will be an inspirational and ambitious leader with a proven track record of securing excellent outcomes across the full age and ability range. They will be passionate about Modern Foreign Languages and committed to ensuring that every student develops the confidence, skills and enthusiasm needed to succeed in language learning. With a clear vision for excellence, they will lead by example, fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration and continuous improvement within the department. You will bring visible enthusiasm and strong advocacy for languages, creating memorable learning experiences both inside and beyond the classroom that inspire students to develop curiosity, resilience and a lifelong appreciation of different cultures and languages. You will be an engaging and approachable leader who can motivate and develop colleagues, helping them to deliver outstanding teaching and learning while supporting their own professional growth. The successful candidate will be able to teach French to GCSE level, with the ability to teach German at GCSE level being desirable, although applications from candidates with expertise in other languages will also be welcomed. You will be highly organised, passionate about securing excellence in teaching, learning and achievement, and skilled in using data and assessment to drive progress and raise standards. You will be aspirational about your own professional development, possessing excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider school community.
