At 4myschools, we are recruiting confident, motivated, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across the Breckland area. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, sports coaches, tutors, youth workers, teaching assistants, or individuals with strong subject knowledge who are passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact in education. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in ensuring continuity of learning when teaching staff are absent. You will supervise classes across a range of subjects, deliver pre-planned lessons, keep students engaged with their learning, and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies. While no lesson planning is required, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, supporting students in completing their work, and encouraging high standards of behaviour and participation. Working in different schools and across various year groups will allow you to develop key skills in classroom management, communication, leadership, and behaviour support, making this an excellent stepping stone into teacher training or other education-based careers. Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths and have experience working with young people, whether within education, coaching, youth work, mentoring, tutoring, customer-facing roles, or similar environments. Previous Cover Supervisor experience is advantageous but not essential. You should possess excellent communication skills, confidence when leading groups, strong organisational abilities, and the resilience to adapt to new situations. This role is particularly suited to individuals who are considering a future career in teaching and wish to gain hands-on classroom experience before embarking on teacher training. Candidates must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time on either a full-time or part-time basis. As schools are located across the Breckland district, access to your own transport is essential to enable travel between placements.
