As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will supervise classes of students, deliver pre-planned lessons, ensure pupils remain engaged with their work, manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, and provide support where required. No lesson planning is expected; instead, you will focus on creating a positive learning environment where students can succeed. Working across a variety of subjects and year groups, you will quickly develop confidence in classroom management, behaviour strategies, communication, and leadership skills. This role provides an excellent foundation for anyone considering teacher training in the future, allowing you to gain invaluable experience while learning on the job. Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum of Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths and have experience working with young people, either within education, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, customer-facing roles, or similar settings. Strong communication skills, confidence leading groups, resilience, adaptability, and a professional approach are essential. Previous Cover Supervisor experience is welcomed but not required, making this an ideal opportunity for aspiring teachers looking to gain school-based experience before undertaking teacher training. Candidates must be available to work between 8:30am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday during term time, on either a full-time or part-time basis. Due to travelling between schools across North Norfolk, access to reliable transport is highly desirable.
