4myschools is recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist education setting on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis. This rewarding opportunity involves supporting children and young people with a range of complex special educational needs and disabilities, including physical, communication and learning needs. Working alongside teachers, therapists and care professionals, you will help pupils access their personalised curriculum, develop independence, build communication skills and achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally. The setting provides a nurturing and supportive environment with specialist facilities, extensive outdoor learning spaces and an integrated therapeutic approach. Speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy are embedded throughout learners’ programmes, ensuring every pupil receives tailored support to help them thrive. The most recent inspection highlighted the positive relationships between staff and pupils, effective communication support and high expectations for learner achievement. As a SEND Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis, adapting activities to meet individual needs, encouraging engagement in learning, promoting independence and wellbeing, and assisting with communication strategies. Depending on pupil requirements, the role may also involve supporting mobility needs, personal care and the use of specialist equipment.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and confident working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker, Therapy Assistant or similar role, although applications are welcomed from individuals with transferable skills and experience supporting people with additional needs. You must be patient, resilient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people achieve their potential. A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths is essential. Due to the rural location of the setting and unreliable public transport links, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. This position is available on a full-time, long-term basis with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.
