New opening! SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Flexible Supply Opportunities – Ipswich
Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) or Learning Support Assistant (LSA) looking for flexible work that fits around your lifestyle? Whether you’re seeking regular pre-booked assignments or enjoy the variety of same-day morning bookings, we have rewarding opportunities available within a welcoming primary school setting in rural Suffolk. Working through 4myschools, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual potential. Opportunities are available from 2-5 days per week, offering flexibility alongside the security of ongoing term-time work. You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, working with small intervention groups, assisting in whole-class activities, implementing personalised support plans, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing, and working closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. The school is a small, community-focused primary setting serving a rural Suffolk village. Catering for pupils aged 4-11, the school operates within a successful federation, enabling strong collaboration across leadership and educational provision. The setting benefits from extensive outdoor space and is recognised for its inclusive ethos, nurturing environment and commitment to ensuring pupils are known and valued as individuals. Recent Ofsted findings praised pupils’ positive attitudes to learning, respectful behaviour, strong relationships throughout the school community, high aspirations for achievement and effective support for children with SEND. Families are actively engaged in school life, and staff work closely with external specialists to ensure pupils receive the support they need to succeed both academically and personally.
- Contract duration: Ongoing
- Contract type: FULL_TIME, PART_TIME – Hours: 8:30-3:30
- Age groups: EYFS, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2
About the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be motivated and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
We are keen to hear from experienced SEND Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, SEN Support Workers, Care Workers, Youth Workers, Residential Support Workers, Nursery Practitioners, Healthcare Assistants, Mental Health Support Workers and other professionals with transferable skills who are passionate about supporting children with additional needs. Previous experience working with SEND pupils is desirable; however, candidates with relevant knowledge, training, professional experience or lived experience supporting individuals with additional needs are also encouraged to apply. You will need a minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, excellent communication skills, a patient and proactive approach, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. Due to the rural location of the school and the potential for early morning bookings, applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle, as public transport links can be limited and unreliable. Availability for flexible work between 8:30am and 3:30pm during term time is essential. If you are looking for flexible, rewarding work where you can genuinely make a difference to children’s lives while maintaining excellent work-life balance, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to join 4myschools and access a range of flexible SEND TA and LSA opportunities across Suffolk.
