Whether you are an experienced SEND teacher, a mainstream teacher looking to broaden your experience, or an educator returning to the profession seeking greater flexibility, we would love to hear from you. We are currently supporting a specialist secondary-age setting that provides education for pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and related communication and interaction difficulties. The school delivers a broad and engaging curriculum alongside a strong emphasis on communication development, emotional regulation, personal growth and preparation for adulthood. Learning takes place within a structured, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, develop independence and establish positive relationships. Purpose-built facilities and specialist resources help ensure pupils can access learning successfully and achieve their individual goals. As a supply teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs and creating a positive classroom environment that promotes participation and achievement. You will work alongside experienced support staff and multi-disciplinary teams to help pupils access the curriculum, develop communication skills and make progress both academically and personally. Depending on the placement, responsibilities may include leading whole-class teaching, supporting personalised learning programmes, implementing behaviour support strategies and contributing to pupils’ wider social and emotional development. These opportunities are ideal for teachers who enjoy building relationships with pupils, thinking creatively to overcome barriers to learning and celebrating progress in all its forms. The role offers excellent variety, allowing you to gain experience across different SEND settings and Alternative Provisions whilst maintaining the flexibility that supply work provides. The specialist setting benefits from a strong reputation for supporting pupils to achieve positive outcomes. Recent inspection findings highlighted effective leadership, strong behaviour and attitudes, exceptional personal development opportunities and a good quality of education. Pupils are supported to improve communication skills, develop resilience and engage positively with learning, creating a rewarding environment for teachers who want to make a lasting impact.

The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be motivated and comfortable working with pupils in a SEN School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
We welcome applications from qualified teachers with experience in SEND, Alternative Provision or mainstream education. Applications are encouraged from Primary Teachers, Secondary Teachers, SEN Teachers, NQTs/ECTs, Inclusion Teachers and Subject Specialists who have a genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs. Experience working with pupils with autism, speech and language difficulties, communication needs, SEMH needs or learning difficulties would be highly advantageous, although full SEND experience is not essential for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, adaptability and willingness to learn. Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, strong classroom management, patience, resilience and a child-centred approach to teaching. Due to the flexible nature of supply work, candidates should ideally be available for anything from 2 to 5 days per week and be willing to accept both planned and same-day bookings. Access to reliable transport is highly desirable to support travel between schools and provisions within the local area. If you are seeking a flexible teaching opportunity where you can utilise your skills, expand your SEND experience and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people, we would be delighted to hear from you.
