We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chelmsford seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant childcare, education, or SEND experience who is passionate about helping young children thrive both academically and socially. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging learning activities, support children’s development across the curriculum, assist with phonics, reading, writing and numeracy interventions, and help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. You may also provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs, helping to build confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours. The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a primary school, nursery, childcare setting, or educational support role, particularly within EYFS or Key Stage 1. Applicants must hold a minimum of Grade C/4 GCSE (or equivalent) in both English and Maths. Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including communication and interaction difficulties, is highly desirable but not essential. You will be patient, adaptable, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for education are essential. Due to the location of the school and the nature of the role, applicants should have access to reliable transport or be able to commute consistently to Chelmsford. This is a full-time, term-time-only position working Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 3:30pm.
