4myschools are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming primary school in Bishop’s Stortford, starting after the October half-term break. Working predominantly within Key Stage 2, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support professional to play a key role in raising pupil achievement, delivering targeted interventions and providing classroom cover when required. The successful candidate will join a supportive school community committed to high standards, positive relationships and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are seeking a confident and proactive HLTA who has experience supporting teaching and learning within a primary school setting, particularly in Key Stage 2. You should be able to work independently, lead small groups, deliver interventions and confidently cover lessons in the teacher’s absence. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils and staff are essential. Applicants must hold an HLTA qualification or relevant equivalent experience, have a good understanding of the primary curriculum, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. An Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and the right to work in the UK will be required.
