Job start date: ASAP | Pay: £94 - £100 Per DAY | School type: Primary School
New opening! Primary TA / SEND Support Assistant (LSA / SEN Teaching Assistant) – Beccles
At 4myschools, we are recruiting caring, adaptable and enthusiastic individuals to join a welcoming primary school in East Suffolk as a SEND Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced SEND professionals, but we are equally keen to hear from candidates bringing transferable skills from care, youth work, family support, residential settings, mental health support, coaching, early years, nursing, social care or other child-centred professions. Whether you’re looking for one day per week or a full five-day commitment, this role offers genuine flexibility while providing the chance to make a lasting difference to children’s lives. You’ll play an important role in helping pupils with additional needs access learning, develop independence and build confidence throughout the school day. Support may include working alongside the class teacher, delivering tailored interventions, providing one-to-one assistance, encouraging positive social interactions, supporting emotional regulation and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. Every day brings variety, and you’ll have the opportunity to celebrate the small wins that make a huge difference to a child’s educational journey. The school itself is a smaller-than-average faith-based primary school serving pupils from Nursery through to Key Stage 2. Part of a successful multi-academy trust, it is known for its strong community spirit, values-led approach and commitment to inclusion. Staff and pupils benefit from a nurturing environment where personal development is given equal importance to academic achievement. Recent inspection findings highlighted effective safeguarding, positive pupil behaviour, strong early years provision and the school’s inclusive culture. Children are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience and respect while benefiting from a wide range of enrichment opportunities including sport, music, educational visits and community projects. Staff are supported through ongoing professional development opportunities and access to wider trust resources, creating an environment where both pupils and adults can thrive. This opportunity would suit someone who is patient, resilient and motivated by helping young people succeed. Experience supporting children or adults with autism, ADHD, communication and language needs, learning difficulties, SEMH needs or other additional needs would be highly desirable. However, candidates with relevant transferable experience and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Contract duration: Ongoing
- Contract type: PART_TIME, FULL_TIME – Hours: 08:30-3:30
- Age groups: EYFS, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2
About the ideal candidate
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The successful applicant will possess GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above and be available to work between 8:30am and 3:30pm during term time. Previous experience within education, SEND support, care, youth work, coaching, mentoring, residential care, healthcare, nursery settings or similar environments would be advantageous. You should be confident building positive relationships, able to remain calm under pressure and committed to creating an inclusive learning experience for every child. A driving licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial due to travelling between surrounding areas, although this is not essential as the school is conveniently located within walking distance of local bus routes and rail connections.
