Job start date: 28/09/2026 | Pay: £94 - £100 Per DAY | School type: SEN School, Primary School
Current opening! SEND Teaching Assistant (Part-Time – Mornings) – Specialist SEND Hub – Felixstowe
Some roles help a child through the school day. This role could help shape the way a child experiences school altogether. 4myschools are working with a highly inclusive primary academy in coastal Suffolk to recruit a compassionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child within the school’s specialist SEND Hub. Whether you’re looking for one morning a week or a full Monday-Friday commitment, there’s flexibility available to fit around existing work or family commitments. The child you’ll be supporting is currently in the early stages of settling into school and is attending on a staggered timetable. As confidence, routines and attendance continue to develop, there is the potential for the hours to increase. Every small breakthrough matters in this role, making it a genuinely rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building trust, consistency and meaningful connections. The child is non-verbal, so we’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates who understand how communication extends far beyond spoken language. Experience using visual supports, communication boards, PECS, Makaton, AAC devices or other strategies that encourage interaction and self-expression will be highly valued. Based within the school’s dedicated SEND Hub, you’ll work closely alongside experienced SEND practitioners to support personalised learning, communication development, emotional regulation and daily routines. You’ll adapt activities to meet individual needs, celebrate progress however small, encourage independence and help create a calm, structured environment where the child feels safe, understood and able to thrive. Some personal care responsibilities will also form part of the role. The school itself has built a strong reputation for inclusion, nurture and pupil wellbeing. As part of a successful multi-academy trust, it combines the benefits of a mainstream primary environment with a specialist SEND provision that supports pupils with a range of complex needs across communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health needs, and sensory and physical development. Staff speak positively about the collaborative culture, specialist resources, outdoor learning opportunities and commitment to helping every child achieve success in their own way.
- Contract duration: Temp-to-Perm
