4myschools are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support a specialist school in Suffolk on a flexible supply basis. To strengthen our pool of specialist SEND support staff, we welcome applications from both SEND Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants, alongside candidates with relevant transferable skills. We recognise that valuable SEND knowledge, experience and expertise are developed through a variety of roles, helping us provide schools with a broad range of support specialists to meet pupils’ diverse needs. In this rewarding role, you will support pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and associated communication and interaction difficulties. You may provide one-to-one support, work with small groups, assist with classroom activities and help pupils engage positively with learning throughout the school day. A key aspect of the role is supporting communication development, emotional regulation, independence and social interaction, while helping young people build confidence and achieve their individual learning outcomes. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to create a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment where pupils can thrive both academically and personally. This specialist school provides education for pupils with speech, language and communication needs and related communication and interaction difficulties. The school delivers a broad curriculum alongside a strong focus on communication development, emotional wellbeing and preparation for adulthood. Learning takes place within a structured, well-organised and nurturing environment that supports pupils to access education successfully while promoting independence, personal growth and positive relationships. Purpose-built facilities and specialist resources help meet a range of additional needs, and recent inspection findings highlighted strong behaviour and attitudes, exceptional personal development, effective leadership and a good quality of education. Pupils are encouraged to develop confidence, improve their communication skills and engage positively with learning. About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and confident working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We welcome applications from experienced SEND Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Behaviour Mentors, Youth Workers, Support Workers, Care Professionals and those with other relevant transferable experience. Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND, autism, communication needs, SEMH needs or additional learning needs would be advantageous. However, candidates with a genuine passion for supporting young people and a willingness to learn are equally encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths and possess strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Successful candidates will demonstrate patience, empathy, resilience and the ability to adapt their approach to meet individual pupil needs. Due to the flexible nature of supply work, candidates should ideally be available for between 2 and 5 days per week, be comfortable accepting both planned and same-day bookings and have access to reliable transport to travel to assignments.
