Immediate opportunity! SEND Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (Secondary School) – Ipswich

4myschools are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join the SEND department of a welcoming and inclusive secondary school. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced TAs, LSAs, graduates considering a future career in education, or individuals with transferable skills, knowledge and expertise who are passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and SEND staff to provide classroom-based support for students aged 11-18. Your duties will include assisting learners within lessons, helping to remove barriers to learning, promoting engagement and confidence, and supporting students with a range of additional needs. There may be occasions where you provide focused 1:1 support, although the role is primarily classroom based and requires flexibility and adaptability throughout the school day. The school is a mixed secondary school with sixth form provision serving a well-established community within a large East of England town. As part of a successful multi-academy trust, the school offers a modern learning environment with specialist teaching facilities and ICT-enabled classrooms. Staff and students benefit from a welcoming, inclusive culture where respect, personal development, wellbeing and academic achievement are highly valued. The school has a strong commitment to inclusion, excellent pastoral support structures and dedicated SEND leadership, making it an excellent environment for both staff and students to thrive.
