We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in the St Albans area. Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team, you will provide individual support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop positive relationships, and engage successfully throughout the school day. The role involves supporting the pupil during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times, using consistent approaches and tailored strategies to promote emotional regulation, confidence, and independence. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working as part of a collaborative and experienced SEND team.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with SEND and be patient, resilient, and nurturing in their approach. You will be able to build positive relationships, remain calm when faced with challenging situations, and adapt your support to meet the individual needs of the pupil. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. We are looking for someone who is committed to helping every child reach their full potential and can provide consistent, encouraging support throughout the school day.
