Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEND Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker or Behaviour Support Practitioner looking for flexible work in a specialist setting where you can make a genuine difference? 4myschools is recruiting flexible supply support staff to work within a highly respected and well-established specialist education organisation in the East of England. This rewarding role offers the chance to work across different provisions within the organisation, including the specialist school, sixth form and college settings, supporting children and young people with a wide range of complex special educational needs and disabilities. Learners may have significant learning difficulties, physical disabilities, communication needs, autism and additional complex needs that require personalised support throughout the day. The organisation is well known for its nurturing approach and commitment to helping every learner achieve their potential. Education, care, health and therapy professionals work together to deliver a highly personalised curriculum that promotes independence, communication, wellbeing and life skills. Learners benefit from integrated therapeutic support, including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, alongside access to specialist facilities and extensive outdoor learning environments. As a flexible member of the support team, you could find yourself supporting a young person in the classroom, assisting sixth form students as they prepare for adulthood, or helping college-aged learners develop independence and employability skills. Responsibilities may include one-to-one support, small-group work, promoting communication and social interaction, encouraging positive behaviour, supporting emotional wellbeing and adapting activities to meet individual needs. Depending on the setting and learner, you may also support with mobility, personal care requirements or the use of specialist equipment.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting children, young people or adults with SEND, whether as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Worker, Residential Support Worker or within a similar role. However, candidates with transferable skills from healthcare, social care, youth work, mental health support or community services are also encouraged to apply. Experience supporting individuals with autism, communication difficulties, severe learning difficulties, physical disabilities, SEMH needs or behaviours that challenge would be advantageous. Applicants must hold the equivalent of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in both English and Mathematics, be available to work between 2 and 5 days per week during term time only, and be comfortable working across school, sixth form and college environments. Due to the rural location of the setting and the fact that public transport can be unreliable, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
