4myschools are delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Bishop’s Stortford on a full-time, ongoing basis. This inclusive and nurturing school is known for its supportive leadership, strong community values and commitment to creating a stimulating learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive. Working Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm (term time only), you will play a key role in supporting pupils across Key Stage 1, assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include working with small groups and individuals to support early reading, phonics, writing and numeracy, providing tailored support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), preparing classroom resources, maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting behaviour management. You will also contribute to monitoring pupil progress and helping to ensure all children feel supported, confident and motivated in their learning.

• Contract type: FULL_TIME – Hours: 8 to 4:00

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role, with a good understanding of the KS1 curriculum and/or experience supporting children with SEN. A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (or C) in both Maths and English is essential. You will be a patient, proactive and adaptable individual with strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young learners. The ability to commit to a full-time, ongoing position is required, along with a willingness to become an active member of the school community. Due to the location, access to reliable transport is highly desirable.
