4myschools is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly regarded specialist education setting in the South East that is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sixth Form SEND Teacher to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This provision supports young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex needs, offering a personalised pathway-based curriculum that places life skills, communication, independence and preparation for adulthood at its core. The setting is purpose-built, calm and well-resourced, with a strong emphasis on dignity, respect and enabling every learner to achieve meaningful outcomes beyond formal schooling. The successful teacher will take responsibility for planning and delivering a bespoke Sixth Form curriculum, working closely with therapists, support staff and families to ensure learning is holistic and relevant. You will be delivering highly differentiated lessons aligned to pathway curricula, embedding functional skills, independence, communication, community engagement and real-life learning opportunities. Daily responsibilities will include assessment against EHCP outcomes, adapting teaching to meet sensory, physical and cognitive needs, supporting learners with personal care where required, and contributing to transition planning for adulthood. This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where relationships and consistency are key.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and confident working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with QTS, with proven experience working with SEND learners, particularly those with PMLD and complex needs, and experience of delivering or contributing to life skills and pathway-based curricula at Sixth Form or post-16 level. You will be confident in adapting teaching strategies, using assistive communication methods and working alongside teaching assistants and therapists to deliver meaningful learning experiences. This is a permanent, full-time position, paid at MPS plus a SEND allowance, and candidates must be able to reliably travel to the setting, so access to transport is essential. Prior experience in a specialist setting is highly desirable, but applications are also welcomed from teachers with strong SEND expertise and a commitment to professional development within this field.
