New opening! Learning Support Assistant – Thetford
Are you passionate about helping children find their voice, build confidence, and thrive in their learning? We’re expanding our dedicated team of SEND specialists and Speech & Language Therapy support staff across Thetford and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for compassionate, proactive Learning Support Assistants who want to make a meaningful difference every day. You’ll be working closely with pupils who have a range of communication needs, learning differences, and EHCP‑linked support requirements, helping them access education in a way that works for them. If you’re driven, nurturing, and excited by the idea of supporting children to reach their full potential, we’d love to hear from you.
- Contract Duration: Flexible: daily and long-term supply opportunities
- Contract Type: Supply – Hours: 8.30am-3.30pm
- Age groups: Primary School
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be proactive and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
Supportive, patient, and passionate about helping children with SEND, Confident working with speech and language targets, communication strategies, and therapist‑led interventions, Able to follow guidance from teachers, SENCOs, and Speech & Language Therapists, Calm, adaptable, and proactive in the classroom, Comfortable supporting behaviour, routines, and individual learning plans, Holds relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or equivalent experience, SALT‑related training such as ELKLAN, Makaton, PECS, Talk Boost, or communication‑focused CPD is highly desirable, Reliable, professional, and a strong team player
