Current opening! Long-Term Youth & Outreach Workers Required – Consistent School-Based Roles – Ipswich
4myschools is proud to be supporting a respected specialist educational setting in the Ipswich area following the launch of a new supply agreement with its academy trust. As demand for specialist support staff is expected to increase significantly from September 2026, we are seeking experienced Youth Workers and Outreach Workers who are looking for a consistent, long-term opportunity within education. This setting provides a nurturing and highly supportive environment for pupils who benefit from additional guidance, structure and positive role models throughout their educational journey. The school recognises the value that youth and outreach professionals bring and is specifically looking for individuals who can transfer those skills into a school-based setting. In this role, you will support pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, working closely with young people who may face social, emotional, behavioural, communication, or engagement difficulties. While the position shares some similarities with a Learning Support Assistant role, the emphasis is very much on relationship building, mentoring, emotional support and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. You will be expected to use your youth work experience to engage pupils positively, encourage attendance and participation, support emotional regulation and help create an environment in which learners feel safe, supported and motivated to succeed. Successful candidates will become a familiar and consistent presence for pupils, building strong relationships over time and working collaboratively with school staff to deliver tailored support strategies that improve outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who enjoy making a genuine difference and would like to see the long-term impact of their work within an educational setting.
- Contract duration: Temporary (Long Term)
- Contract type: PART_TIME, FULL_TIME – Hours: 08:30 – 3:30
- Age groups: Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, Primary School, Secondary School

A minimum Grade 4 (C) GCSE in English and Maths is essential. Applicants must be available for a minimum of two days per week, with opportunities available up to full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only. Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, SEND, challenging behaviour or barriers to education would be highly beneficial. Access to reliable transport is required.
