This role involves working across a network of small village primary schools in and around Maldon, each with its own character and close‑knit feel. Class sizes are typically smaller, and staff teams are known for being welcoming and appreciative of visiting teachers. Supply cover is usually well planned, with clear routines in place to help teachers settle quickly into the school day. As a supply teacher, you will play an important part in maintaining continuity of learning when permanent staff are absent.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

This role would suit a confident and adaptable primary teacher who enjoys variety and feels comfortable stepping into different classroom environments. You should be able to quickly build rapport with pupils and follow existing classroom expectations with consistency. A calm, organised approach will help you deliver pre‑set lessons effectively across EYFS through to Year 6. Teachers who are flexible, reliable and proactive tend to thrive in these schools and are often requested back.

Requirements for this role

Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable).

Access to own transport desirable due to the locations of some schools.
