4myschools are delighted to be recruiting for a dynamic and committed Science and Maths Teacher to join a welcoming and well-supported secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented educator who can confidently teach Maths at Key Stage 3 and Science up to Key Stage 4, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire a love of learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full teaching role including planning and preparing lessons, delivering high-quality teaching, marking and assessing pupil progress, and contributing to a positive learning environment. You will be expected to demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and foster a classroom culture where all students feel confident, supported and motivated to achieve their best. This is a term-time only position, working Monday to Friday 8:30am–3:30pm, and is ideal for someone looking to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative and forward-thinking department.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate and adaptable teacher with experience teaching Maths and/or Science at secondary level, including Maths at KS3 and Science up to KS4. You will hold a minimum of Grade 4 (or C) in GCSE Maths and English, and ideally possess a relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent), although strong unqualified teachers with subject knowledge and school experience will also be considered. You will demonstrate excellent classroom practice, strong behaviour management, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional needs. A willingness to support the school’s Catholic ethos is essential. Candidates must be reliable, committed, and able to travel to Hemel Hempstead independently, with access to transport highly advantageous. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and confident early career teachers seeking a supportive environment.
