4myschools are currently partnering with a number of well‑established and supportive secondary schools in Downham Market and nearby communities, who are seeking reliable and confident Supply Secondary Cover Supervisors to provide classroom supervision during teacher absence. These schools are known for their clear behaviour policies, strong pastoral support systems and commitment to maintaining high standards of learning, creating a positive and structured environment for both students and staff. As a Supply Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering pre‑set work planned by the class teacher, ensuring students remain on task and engaged, and maintaining a calm and orderly learning environment. You will follow school routines and safeguarding procedures, manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations, and provide feedback to teaching and pastoral staff at the end of each day. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to gain experience across a range of subjects while supporting continuity of learning within the secondary setting.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and comfortable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor or similar role within a UK secondary school, or hold strong subject knowledge at secondary curriculum level. Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs or behavioural needs is highly desirable. You will be confident working with young people, adaptable to different school environments, and able to establish positive relationships quickly. Availability to work full school days (typically 8:15am–3:15pm) on an ad‑hoc, short‑term or ongoing supply basis is essential. Due to the rural nature of some schools in and around Downham Market, access to your own transport is strongly preferred. This role is well suited to experienced Cover Supervisors, graduates considering a career in teaching, or education professionals seeking flexible work that fits around other commitments.
