The school offers a supportive, values‑led environment where pupil wellbeing, inclusion and positive relationships are central to daily practice. This role provides an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference to young people who require additional emotional, behavioural and learning support to access education successfully. Responsibilities will include providing in‑class support, delivering small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation, and supporting pupils with their academic and social development across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will help pupils develop confidence, resilience and readiness to learn, using consistent routines, nurturing approaches and clear expectations. This role would suit someone who is patient, reflective and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and confident working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or support worker, ideally within a secondary school or nurture provision, supporting pupils in KS3 and KS4. Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including social, emotional and behavioural needs, is highly desirable. You will have a calm, consistent and nurturing approach, with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people who may be disengaged from learning. A good understanding of behaviour support strategies, emotional regulation and inclusive classroom practice is important for success in this role. You will be available to work three days per week (Monday to Wednesday) and able to commit reliably to the placement. Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals, and a clear understanding of safeguarding procedures are essential. This role would suit candidates with relevant qualifications or strong transferable skills from education, youth work, care or SEND‑focused roles. Due to the school’s location in Norwich, access to reliable transport is advantageous. Above all, you will be resilient, compassionate and committed to supporting young people to re‑engage positively with education.
