Job start date: 01/09/26 | Pay: £95 - £100 Per DAY  | School type: Primary School

New vacancy! SEN Teaching Assistant Primary – King’s Lynn

At 4myschools, we are working closely with a range of inclusive and nurturing primary schools across the King’s Lynn area that are dedicated to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These welcoming school communities place a strong emphasis on personalised learning, emotional well-being, and creating a supportive and structured environment where every child can thrive. We are currently seeking compassionate and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supply team, offering both daily bookings and longer-term placements. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking for flexibility, with a minimum commitment of 2 days per week, while making a genuine difference to pupils who require additional support. In this role, you will support pupils across the primary age range with a variety of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH). Your day-to-day responsibilities will include working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support, assisting with individual education plans (IEPs), providing one-to-one or small group interventions, and helping pupils access the curriculum in a way that suits their learning style. You will also play a key role in managing behaviour positively, building strong relationships with pupils, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. Adaptability is key, as you may be working across different settings and supporting a range of needs.

  • Contract duration: Temporary (Short Term), Ongoing
  • Contract type: PART_TIME, TEMPORARY, FULL_TIME – Hours: 8:30 – 3:30
  • Age groups: Primary School

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be motivated  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (or C) in English and Maths and have previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, either within a school or through transferable sectors such as care work, youth work, residential support, or coaching. While a Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification is desirable, it is not essential for candidates who can demonstrate the right attitude, empathy, and skillset. You should be reliable, patient, and confident in supporting children with diverse needs, with strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly. Availability for at least 2 days per week during term time (8:30am–3:30pm) is essential, along with access to transport to travel to schools across the King’s Lynn area. Opportunities are available immediately, with both flexible day-to-day supply and the potential for longer-term placements.
