New opening! SEND Learning Support Assistant – Felixstowe
4myschools are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Felixstowe area that is seeking experienced and reliable SEND Learning Support Assistants to provide flexible supply cover from September. This rewarding opportunity involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs across both mainstream classrooms and a Specialist Education Unit (SEU), helping children access learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes. Work is available on an ad hoc basis with advance notice wherever possible, offering flexibility from 2 to 5 days per week depending on your availability. As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to individual pupils and small groups. You will help implement learning activities, promote positive behaviour strategies, support communication and social development, and adapt approaches to meet varying educational and emotional needs. The role may involve supporting pupils with autism, speech and language needs, SEMH needs and other additional learning requirements. You will be expected to build positive relationships with pupils, maintain a calm and nurturing approach, and work collaboratively as part of a dedicated school team.

Candidate profile
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and dependable SEND professional with previous experience working with children with additional needs in either a primary school, specialist provision, alternative provision or care setting. Applicants must hold a minimum Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE Maths and English and demonstrate strong communication and behaviour management skills. The successful candidate will be flexible and confident supporting pupils across different year groups, including both mainstream and specialist environments. Due to the nature of supply work and the school’s location, access to reliable transport is highly desirable. Candidates must be available between 8:30am and 3:30pm during term time and be able to respond positively to varying classroom environments.
