A welcoming primary school in Harpenden is seeking a dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their early years team on a temporary basis. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to support young children during a crucial stage of their development within a nurturing and engaging learning environment. As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing throughout the school day. Working alongside the class teacher and early years team, you will help deliver activities that support communication, social skills, and early learning goals. You will assist with classroom organisation, encourage positive interactions, and help create an environment where children feel safe and supported.

• Contract duration: Temporary (Short Term)
• Contract type: FULL_TIME – Hours: 8.00-4.00
• Age groups: Nursery

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, caring, and passionate about supporting young children’s development. Previous experience working with nursery-aged children, schools, nurseries, or early years settings would be beneficial. You should be patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to safeguarding and child welfare are essential. A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are highly valued.
