A welcoming primary school in St Albans is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Full-Time Teaching Assistant to join its Year 6 team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children in the classroom and helping pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) achieve their full potential. You will support pupils within the classroom, with a particular focus on children with Special Educational Needs. You will play an important role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop confidence, and engage fully in learning activities.

• Contract duration: Ongoing
• Contract type: TEMPORARY – Hours: 8.30-3.30
• Age groups: Key Stage 2, Year 6

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children in an educational setting and a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs. You will be patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach are essential. Previous experience supporting SEN pupils within a primary school setting would be highly beneficial.
