New vacancy! Year 5 Teacher – Slough

4myschools are pleased to be supporting a welcoming and ambitious primary school in the recruitment of a dedicated Year 5 Teacher for a full‑time position starting in September. This inclusive and values‑driven school places a strong emphasis on high expectations, personal development and preparing pupils for the next stage of their learning journey. The setting benefits from a calm and purposeful learning environment, a collaborative staff team and a leadership team that is highly supportive of professional growth, staff wellbeing and consistent teaching practice across Key Stage 2. The successful Year 5 Teacher will take responsibility for delivering engaging, well‑sequenced lessons that build on prior learning and support pupils in developing confidence, independence and resilience. You will plan, teach and assess in line with the national curriculum, ensuring lessons are appropriately differentiated to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND or requiring additional challenge. The role involves tracking progress effectively, using assessment to inform planning, and providing high‑quality feedback to support attainment and progress. You will work closely with teaching assistants and phase colleagues, contribute positively to staff meetings and CPD, and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers. A consistent, positive approach to behaviour will be key, supporting a focused and respectful classroom culture.

  • Contract duration: Permanent
  • Contract type: FULL_TIME – Hours: 8:30 to 3:30
  • Age groups: Year 5

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary and Secondary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching in Key Stage 2, with Year 5 experience being particularly desirable. Teachers with strong upper KS2 curriculum knowledge, including preparation for end‑of‑key‑stage expectations, are encouraged to apply, as are confident ECTs with relevant placement experience. You must be available to work full time from September and be comfortable taking on full classroom responsibilities. A commitment to inclusive practice, experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs, and the ability to adapt teaching to support a range of abilities will be highly valued. Due to the school’s location, access to reliable transport is advantageous. This is a full‑time, long‑term position for the academic year, working standard school hours, offering stability and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
