This opportunity covers a variety of primary schools across Ipswich and the wider Suffolk area, supporting learning in Year 5 classes within Key Stage 2. The schools are typically well‑organised, with clear routines and established expectations that help supply teachers settle in quickly. Depending on the booking, the role may involve day‑to‑day cover or a longer‑term placement where consistency and relationship‑building are valued. You will be working alongside experienced support staff and leadership teams who understand the practicalities of both daily and long‑term supply.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and comfortable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

This role suits a reliable and flexible teacher who can confidently step into different classroom settings and maintain continuity of learning. You should be comfortable delivering pre‑planned lessons, managing behaviour fairly, and adapting your approach to suit the needs of Year 5 pupils. For longer placements, the ability to plan, assess, and contribute to wider school life will be important. A calm, professional manner and a genuine commitment to supporting pupil progress will help you succeed in both short‑term and extended roles.

What you’ll need to apply

Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable). 
Dedication to safeguarding children. 
Qualified Teacher Status is required. 
Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2 is desirable. 
Availability for daily supply and/or longer‑term placements across the area is beneficial.
