This role is based in a one-form entry primary school in Colchester, where staff work closely together to create a consistent and well-balanced learning experience for pupils. As a Year 2 job share position, the role is integrated into a collaborative teaching approach, with shared planning ensuring continuity between teaching days. Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be committed  and confident working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will bring a thoughtful and consistent approach to teaching within Key Stage 1, with an awareness of how continuity supports younger learners. You will be comfortable working alongside a job share partner, contributing to shared planning and maintaining alignment in expectations and routine. Strong classroom presence and clear communication will help create a positive learning space. An adaptable mindset will support you in responding to pupils’ needs across your three teaching days.

Requirements for this role

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – we can help you apply. 
Right to work in the UK. 
Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable). 
Dedication to safeguarding children. 
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required. 
Experience within Key Stage 1, particularly Year 2, is beneficial. 
Availability to work Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 
Confidence in contributing to shared planning within a job share arrangement.
