This role is based within a primary school setting that provides a structured and supportive Key Stage 2 environment. The school promotes a calm, inclusive atmosphere where pupils are encouraged to take part fully in their learning and development. Staff work collaboratively to ensure consistency across the curriculum, with a focus on maintaining positive behaviour and clear expectations. The Year 4 class plays an important part in the school’s KS2 progression, helping pupils build confidence and independence as they move through upper primary.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

The successful applicant will be someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The successful candidate will be a confident classroom practitioner who can deliver engaging lessons and maintain a positive learning environment across a three-day week. They will be adaptable and able to step into an established class routine while building strong relationships with pupils and colleagues. A consistent and organised approach to planning, marking and assessment will support continuity of learning. This role would suit someone who is proactive, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of a Year 4 class.

Essential requirements

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service – we can help you apply. 
Right to work in the UK. 
Relevant experience or qualifications in education or childcare (desirable). 
Dedication to safeguarding children. 
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required. 
Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 is expected. 
Ability to commit to a consistent Monday to Wednesday working pattern. 
Confidence in delivering the primary curriculum at Year 4 level.
