The school promotes a positive learning environment where staff are valued, supported through ongoing professional development, and encouraged to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.In this role, the successful candidate will take strategic responsibility for the leadership and management of the school’s SEND provision, ensuring that all students with additional needs are effectively supported in line with statutory requirements and best practice. Key responsibilities will include overseeing the identification and assessment of pupils with special educational needs, coordinating and reviewing EHCPs, working closely with teaching staff to implement high-quality, differentiated provision, and monitoring the progress and attainment of SEND pupils to ensure positive outcomes. You will lead and support a team of teaching assistants, liaise with parents, carers and external agencies, and play a key role in promoting inclusive teaching practices across the school. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice, and contributing to whole-school improvement planning with a focus on inclusion and student wellbeing.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable SEND professional who either holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is working towards it) and has proven experience within a secondary school setting, or a strong background in supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs including ASD, SEMH and communication difficulties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills, along with a commitment to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners. A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (or C) in English and Maths is essential. You will be available full-time from September 2026 through to July 2027 and have access to reliable transport to commute to the school. This role would suit an experienced SENDCo or an aspiring leader ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive and well-structured environment.
