4myschools is delighted to be working with a welcoming and well‑resourced specialist SEN secondary school in Northampton that is widely regarded as a genuinely happy place to work. This setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs and is designed to allow staff to teach, support and inspire without the pressures often found in larger mainstream environments. As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs while promoting confidence, independence and progress. You will work with small class sizes, benefiting from excellent facilities and a calm, structured environment, with multiple support staff available in each classroom to ensure teaching and learning remain the focus. Collaboration with teaching assistants, therapists and the wider pastoral team is central to the role, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ academic and personal development while feeling fully supported in your practice.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be committed  and comfortable working with pupils in a SEN School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with QTS and proven SEN experience, ideally within a secondary or specialist setting, who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting young people with additional needs. You will be confident adapting the curriculum, using a range of strategies to engage learners, and working as part of a close‑knit, professional team. A positive, patient and proactive approach is essential, along with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues alike. You must be able to reliably travel to the Northampton area and be available to take on a rewarding SEN teaching role within a supportive specialist school environment.
