New opportunity! School Administrator – Northampton
4myschools are working in partnership with a welcoming SEND school in Northampton who are looking to recruit a committed Office Administrator / Support Assistant for a term‑time only position, working 37 hours per week across 39 weeks per year. This pivotal role sits at the heart of the Academy’s daily operations, providing essential administrative support to pupils, families and staff while maintaining high standards of organisation, professionalism and safeguarding. Acting as the first point of contact for parents, carers, visitors and external professionals, the successful candidate will help create a positive, inclusive and well‑run school environment with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing and attendance. The role involves overseeing a broad range of administrative, financial and organisational tasks, including reception duties, managing calls and emails, arranging pupil transport, maintaining pupil records, ordering free school meals and ensuring all information is accurate and compliant with safeguarding and statutory requirements. You will support attendance processes through maintaining registers, completing first‑day calling, recording interventions and producing regular attendance reports, alongside providing administrative support to senior leaders, teaching staff and safeguarding teams. Additional responsibilities include preparing correspondence and reports, supporting daily operations such as room bookings, stock control and supplier liaison, processing purchase orders and petty cash, acting as a key holder when required and working closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and Campus Co‑ordinator to support the wider Academy approach.

Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate should be proactive and comfortable working with pupils in a SEN School setting.
We are looking for a candidate who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an office administration or school‑based support role and will be confident working within a busy, pupil‑focused environment where attention to detail, discretion and flexibility are essential. Experience of working with attendance systems, safeguarding processes and pupil databases such as Bromcom will be highly advantageous, alongside strong IT skills and the ability to manage digital and paper‑based filing systems in line with GDPR requirements. You will be an excellent communicator who can build positive, trust‑based relationships with families, pupils and colleagues, offering clear guidance around attendance expectations while supporting pupils to overcome barriers to engagement. A calm, organised and proactive approach is essential, as is a strong understanding of confidentiality, equal opportunities, health and safety and professional boundaries. The successful applicant must be available to work 37 hours per week during term time only, across 39 weeks of the year, and will be committed to ongoing professional development and contributing to the wider life and values of the Academy.
