The successful teacher will deliver engaging English lessons across the secondary age range, placing reading, writing and critical thinking at the centre of learning. You will use assessment and data effectively to inform planning, address gaps and secure strong progress for all students, while contributing positively to the wider life of the school through collaboration and reflective practice. The English department is a dynamic and committed team with a shared focus on high‑quality curriculum design and excellent outcomes. Staff work closely together to refine teaching approaches, share best practice and ensure every student is both supported and challenged. Candidate profile

The ideal candidate should be proactive  and capable working with pupils in a Secondary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS with a degree or equivalent in English and bring secure subject knowledge alongside a passion for the subject. You will be a confident classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners, committed to inclusive practice and equity of opportunity. Strong use of data to inform teaching, a reflective approach to professional development and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues are essential. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and those earlier in their career who can travel reliably to a secondary school setting.
