Immediate opportunity! SEN Teacher – Colchester

At 4myschools, we are working closely with a specialist education setting in Colchester to recruit a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher for a full-time role starting in September. This is a rewarding opportunity within a nurturing and structured environment that supports pupils with additional needs, particularly those with autism. The setting is designed to provide consistency, care and personalised learning, enabling pupils to grow in confidence, independence and social development alongside their academic progress. In this role, you will take responsibility for delivering creative, adaptive lessons that are tailored to meet the individual learning needs of your class. You will plan and deliver engaging activities aligned to a personalised curriculum, ensuring every pupil can access learning at their own level. A key part of the role will be fostering a safe, supportive classroom environment where routines, structure and positive behaviour strategies are embedded consistently. You will work closely with support staff and external professionals to provide a joined-up approach to each pupil’s education, while also supporting their social and emotional development throughout the school day. The role will also include supervising pupils during less structured times such as break and lunch, ensuring a calm and consistent approach is maintained throughout. You will be joining a dedicated and collaborative staff team who are passionate about making a difference. The setting places strong emphasis on teamwork, wellbeing and ongoing development, offering a positive and supportive working environment where both staff and pupils are encouraged to thrive.

  • Contract duration: Temporary (Long Term), Contract (Fixed Duration), Ongoing, Temp-to-Perm
  • Contract type: FULL_TIME, PART_TIME, TEMPORARY – Hours: 08:30-4:30
  • Age groups: Primary and Secondary School
