4myschools are delighted to be recruiting for a long-term Nursery Nurse / Early Years Practitioner on behalf of a welcoming and nurturing primary school within a successful local academy trust in the Clacton area. Following the strengthening of our partnership as a preferred supply agency, we are looking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic early years professional to join the school’s EYFS team from September on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Nursery Nurse, Early Years Educator or Early Years Practitioner who enjoys supporting young children during the most important stages of their development. The successful candidate will work within a vibrant Early Years setting that prides itself on creating a stimulating, inclusive and child-centred learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, develop independence and build confidence through engaging play-based learning experiences. Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team, you will support children across Nursery class, helping to deliver planned learning activities, facilitate indoor and outdoor provision, promote communication and language development, support early literacy and numeracy skills, observe and record children’s progress and contribute to a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment. You will also play a key role in supporting children’s social and emotional development, encouraging positive relationships and helping every child to achieve the best possible start to their education.

About the ideal candidate

The ideal candidate should be committed  and capable working with pupils in a Primary School setting.

This role would suit someone who can build positive relationships, adapt to different classroom environments, and support pupils with a range of learning needs.

We are keen to hear from experienced Nursery Nurses, Early Years Practitioners, Early Years Educators and childcare professionals who hold a recognised Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare. Previous experience working within a nursery, preschool, Reception class or primary school EYFS setting is essential, and candidates with experience supporting children with additional needs or SEND would be particularly welcomed. Applicants must possess a sound understanding of the EYFS Framework and be confident supporting learning through both structured activities and child-led play. A minimum Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English and Maths is required. Due to the school’s location and limited public transport links within the surrounding area, access to a car and the ability to travel independently is considered essential. The role is available on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, term time only, starting in September and expected to continue on a long-term basis throughout the academic year.
